Zuid Station

Zuid | Country

Zuid (South) Station stands above ground and is the only station of the North/South line that already existed before the new metro line was created. Only platforms and entrances have been constructed. It is expected that 43,000 passengers a day will use Zuid Station—to gain access to the many offices that abound in the Zuidas business district, but also to the more than 2,000 new homes that will be added here by 2020 alone. For the time being, no art has yet been planned in Zuid Station.

In the future there will be a new public transport terminal, which will include a regional bus station. The subway platforms of the North/South line will then be relocated, and there will be an additional entrance to ensure good transfer connections to other subways, (High Speed Line) trains and trams. The extra entrance is considerably closer to the Free University.

Zuid Station will be the hub of traffic, business and science; a focal point of mobility, power and knowledge in the Netherlands.
